About
Rishworth is a thriving, independent co-educational school with a happy mix of day-pupils, weekly-boarders and full-boarders. It is an exceptionally friendly, caring community in which pupils are as strongly encouraged to rejoice in each other's achievements as to take pride in their own. Rishworth has its own Junior School, Heathfield, and offers a continuous educational provision to boys and girls from age 3 to 18. Pupils relish their time with us, giving of their best and working hard academically. They forge lasting friendships and an enduring attachment to their School whilst enjoying excellent relations with their teachers. Rishworth’s magnificent buildings, extensive grounds and superb Pennine location provide pupils with a physical environment which is conducive both to the clarity of mind required for study and to the full and balanced development of young people. During the time a pupil is with us at Rishworth, we try to ensure that, in addition to the knowledge and skills acquired through academic study, he or she develops:•a love of learning and the will to succeed•a sense of responsibility, self-discipline, purpose and fulfilment•a capacity for both self-reliance and co-operation•an appreciation of certain personal virtues and spiritual values, such as honesty, dependability, perseverance, commitment, humility and respect for others. When the time comes for our pupils to leave the School, we hope to have helped them not only to be properly prepared for the next stage in their lives, but also to become balanced and considerate young men and women who have the confidence to meet the world and the challenges it places before them, as its equal.
