This scholarship offers a full fee-waiver for the duration of a full-time undergraduate program, aimed at encouraging and supporting academically gifted international students to enrol in a program with the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment at the University of Newcastle, Callaghan campus, with the long term view to continuation into Research Higher Degree candidature.
International students who are seeking advanced standing or credit transfers from other institutions, and who have applied to study with University of Newcastle, may also submit an application for this scholarship.
Terms and Conditions
- All applications received before the end of the closing date will be considered for scholarships.
- Scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first served basis until available scholarship funds have been exhausted.
- Scholarships will be awarded based on merit, at the sole discretion of the school.

- This scholarship provides full payment of tuition fees each semester for the duration of an undergraduate program (up to 5 years), provided the scholar continues to meet ongoing conditions.
- Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of Academic Achievement (including rank) in previously completed studies, results of all courses completed in program, Assessment of written statement (career aspirations upon completion of the program and research interests), and validity of supporting statements or documents.
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- All applicants must register as students via Scholarship2u.com.
- All applicants must make an application via the Scholarships2u.com portal in order to qualify for the scholarship.
- Scholarship covers tuition fees only.
- Terms and conditions may apply.
- Applicants must submit a certified copy of their recent exam results upon request.
- Applicants must be newly enrolled to the University of Newcastle.
- Applicants must be commencing in an undergraduate program with the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment in the semester of scholarship offer.
- Applicants must be enrolled full-time at the Callaghan Campus.
- Applicants must be full-fee paying international student.
- Applicants should not hold another scholarship for the same program of study.
- Applicants should not have previously completed an Australian undergraduate degree program.
Two scholarships are available; one scholarship will be awarded for Semester 1 admission and one scholarship will be awarded for Semester 2 admission.
